Installation Instructions: Acoustical Pipe Lagging
(ANC-WB-21 and ANC-WB42)

1. Determine the circumference of the duct or pipe to be wrapped. Note additional length required to accommodate thickness of material. Add 2–4 inches overlap of product onto itself. (Note: Quilted Fiberglass side goes up against the Duct or Pipe)

2. Utilizing standard 54″ wide rolls, cut length as determined above.

Soundproofing is any means of reducing the sound pressure with respect to a specified sound source and receptor. There are several basic approaches to reducing sound: increasing the distance between source and receiver, using noise barriers to block or absorb the energy of the sound waves, using damping structures such as sound baffles, or using active anti-noise sound generators.

Generators are often noisy an effective solution is often required to suppress the noise emitted from them. Pump noise is usually a nuisance because they are sitting on comparatively lightweight structures. The best way to soundproof and to reduce any noise from a generator regardless of size is to enclose it within a Floor Mounted 4-Sided Acoustic blanket Enclosure. For best results the enclosure should be as large as possible to allow less heat buildup and also to be more effective at reducing the noise output from reaching other areas and acoustically isolating the pump to contain structure borne sound being transmitted from where it is mounted.

1. Layout and mark area to be enclosed.

2. While the hardware is on the ground, slide roller track (16 RT) through connectors to designated locations. To make sliding roller track into connectors easier, squeeze ends of roller track together as you slide into the end of connector. Where two pieces of track meet inside a connector make sure to deburr the ends of the track and push the butting ends together so that they fit snugly. This prevents the rollers from getting stuck in a “pot hole” inside the connector. Be sure to see the track orientation detail to ensure that the enclosure is assembled as designed.

Material typically required to complete installation: ANC-AB12, self-tapping screws or nails appropriate for substrate, or other framing material (optional)

1. Determine the area to be covered.

2. If the material is provided in bound pieces (no grommets or Velcro along any edge)

– Using a self-tapping screw that is appropriate for the substrate screw directly through the ANC-AB12 material into the wall or framing material.

– You may use a washer, between the screw and the ANC-AB12, to help secure the material in place
